The Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.) is a foundational pharmacy education programme regulated by the Pharmacy Council of India. It equips students with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work as competent pharmacists in community and hospital settings, preparing them to dispense medicines safely, counsel patients, and support healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

D. Pharm. graduates are eligible for registration as a Registered Pharmacist and can pursue careers as Retail and Community Pharmacists, Hospital Pharmacists, or Medical/Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives. Many students also use the D. Pharm. qualification as a stepping stone to lateral entry into the third semester of the B. Pharm. programme, furthering their education in the pharmaceutical sciences.

Course Details

The duration of the course is 2 academic years.

Each academic year is spread over a period of not less than one hundred and eighty working days, in addition to 500 hours of practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.

Minimum Qualification for Admission

Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I

Minimum qualification for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I course is a pass in any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.

Candidates aged 17-35 years who have passed 10+2 (Science) with PCM or PCB are eligible for admission.
